Waiouru Safari

Proudly supported by Honda

Overview

This is a two day guided quad bike tour of the 63,000 ha Waiouru training area and surrounding farmland. This is some of the most stunning quad bike riding you will experience in the North Island - check out out the photo gallery. Only 4x4 quad bikes and 4x4 MUV type vehicles are permitted. Accommodation will be in Army barracks and hot meals will be included.

Date

Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 April 2012

Accommodation is organised for the Friday and Saturday evenings so riders are encouraged to arrive Friday night.

Accommodation

Army barrack accommodation is provided and all meals are included in the price.

Registration

Numbers are strictly limited so book early to avoid disappointment. To register, download, complete and return the PDF registration form.

Suitability

This is a guided two day tour. Depending upon numbers, two groups may operate. Both groups will move at a sedate pace and will traverse terrain that will require some skill and engaging of 4x4. If the rider is nervous of a particular section, then another more confident rider will take the quad through that section.

Fuel

The distances being covered each day are greater than the range of the average quad. Therefore, riders are to bring a jerry can with fuel and this will be delivered to the designated lunch stops each day.

Event fee

The fee for this unique event is $374 inclusive of GST and will include barrack accommodation on the Friday and Saturday nights, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, pre-positioning of fuel each day, medical support, bike recovery, guides and an event sticker for each quad.
